News from the Northern Virginia/Washington Chapter of the IEEE Magnetics Society.

On 20 June, we organized a very successful IEEE Distinguished Lecture at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD, with Dr. Mason Williams as our speaker. The topic of the lecture was "Beyond the Limits of Magnetic Recording: an Itinerant Magnetician Looks at Hysterical Loops". There were around 30 attendees for the event.
