Timo Kuschel is working as a substitute professor at Bielefeld University and as guest lecturer at the University of Mainz. He has studied physics at Osnabrück University and visited the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials at the University of Groningen for his post-doc research stay. His scientific interests are spintronics, spin currents, spin caloritronics, magnetooptics and synchrotron techniques such as x-ray resonant magnetic reflectivity (XRMR) and x-ray detected ferromagnetic resonance (XFMR).
Timo supports IEEE conference organizations by serving as co-treasurer for MMM 2023, Joint MMM-Intermag 2025 and MMM 2025. Furthermore, he will be co-chair of the Magnetic Frontiers 2025 conference on altermagnetism. In January 2024 he became the German Chapter Chair of the IEEE Magnetics Society.
