Publishing Policies

Publication Fees: This publication is supported by subscriptions and applicable Article Processing Charges (APCs). Although there is no cost for publishing with IEEE, authors may wish to take advantage of some of our fee-based offerings; visit the IEEE Author Center for more information on available options.

In 2026, the cost to publish an article in a hybrid journal as open access is US$2800.  IEEE Members receive a 5% discount on this Article Processing Charge; IEEE Society Members receive a 20% discount; and discounts cannot be combined. Discounts do not apply to undergraduate and graduate students. Corresponding authors from low-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) are eligible for discounts on article processing charges. Errors in Published Articles: Authors who have detected an error in their published article should contact the Editor-in-Chief shown above to request the publication of a correction. Note that no change may be made to the original article after it is published in IEEE Xplore.
