IEEE Magnetics Letters is a peer-reviewed, archival journal covering the physics and engineering of magnetism, magnetic materials, applied magnetics, design and application of magnetic devices, bio-magnetics, magneto-electronics, and spin electronics. IEEE Magnetics Letters publishes five-page, scholarly articles of substantial current interest and welcomes optional short videos or multimedia materials linked to articles (Authors retain the rights to their video content.)

In 2026, the cost to publish an article as open access is US$2800. IEEE Members receive a 5% discount on this Article Processing Charge; IEEE Society Members receive a 20% discount; and discounts cannot be combined. Discounts do not apply to undergraduate and graduate students. Corresponding authors from low-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) are eligible for discounts on article processing charges. IEEE Magnetics Letters uses a dedicated Editorial Review Board and a selected pool of reviewers to ensure rapid decisions, with an average of four weeks from submission to first decision. Letters may be up to five pages in length, including acknowledgments and references. They have a modern design, easy-to-read typeface, and full color. There are no page charges.
Members of the Magnetics Society have free online access. A black-and-white annual compilation is printed and mailed to print subscribers.
