Giovanni Finocchio is Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Messina and IEEE Senior Member. He get the degree in Electronic Engineering in 2001 and the PhD in Electromagnetic modeling in 2005. His main research interests are: Micromagnetic modeling, Spintronics, Computing, and Skyrmionics. He is PI of several grants. He is regularly invited in in conferences on magnetism and gave talks at universities and industries. In the last 15 years, he served on many technical program committees of international conferences and organized more than 10 international conferences and workshops including several events sponsored by the Italy Chapter, as Chair, Program Committee Member, or in other positions. Since 2014, he is in the editorial Board of IEEE Magnetics Letters (now senior member). Since 2020, he is the new chair of the Italy chapter of magnetic society. In 2021, the chapter received the award as best Italian chapter. He is also president of Petaspin association (www.petaspin.com) and chair of the TC-16 of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council. Since 2020, he is member of the AdCom of the IEEE Magnetics Society. During the pandemics, he organized more than 100 virtual seminars which now are freely available.
