Martin Lonsky is a research scientist working with Prof. Dr. Jens Müller at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Dr. Axel Hoffmann at the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under a research fellowship by the German Science Foundation.
He is intrigued by magnetic and electronic phenomena in condensed matter systems as well as their applications with regard to novel data storage solutions, sensitive detectors or other practical devices. An essential purpose of this website is to inform about my current and past research projects. Please feel free to contact him in the case of questions or further interest.
Aside from research, he is also passionate about teaching and communicating physics as well as materials science. Please check out his blog (http://teachphyshighered.blogspot.com/) on teaching physics in higher education that launched in Summer 2022. His teaching style involves a strong and effective interaction with students, the clear demonstration of the relevance and applications of the subject matter, and strengthening motivation through my own enthusiasm for science. Moreover, he is also a strong advocate of incorporating more computational contents into science and engineering coursework.
