Subhankar Bedanta is a Professor of Physics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar, India. He earned his PhD from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, in 2006. After completing his doctorate, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen and later at Princeton University, USA. He also held the position of guest scientist at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. In 2010, he joined NISER as an Assistant Professor, and in 2022, he was promoted to a professor position. At NISER, he serves as the head of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CIS). His research primarily explores nanomagnetism and spintronics, particularly in the context of various quantum materials. His group emphasizes topics such as domain wall dynamics, skyrmions, antiferromagnetic spintronics, organic spintronics, flexible spintronics, and quantum technologies. Over the course of his career, he has published more than 115 research papers and given over 100 invited presentations. He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE Society.
