Call for AdCom Nominations for 2027-2029 Term
The Nominations Committee is accepting nominations for the 2027-2029 term for the AdCom positions on the Society’s Administrative Committee (AdCom). Each year, eight Society members are newly elected to the AdCom, which is responsible for decision making related to the Society’s operations. It is required for AdCom candidates to be current Magnetics Society members, as per Section 5.1 of the Constitution, and that such membership will be retained throughout the tenure as an AdCom member if elected. Please note that graduate student members may be included on the nominations slate but will not be able to vote/participate in Society elections. The nominations are due May 1, 2026.
As outlined in Section 4.1.2 of the Magnetics Society Bylaws, members may also nominate candidates by petition. Petitions must be submitted via email to (Click to show email) on or before May 1, 2026, and must adhere to the Nomination by Petition Policy and Procedures.
Nominees should be individuals who have demonstrated service to the Society either as previous or current elected or ex-officio members of the AdCom, members of Society committees, or individuals who have made other significant contributions to the Magnetics Society or to the magnetics community in general. Nominations shall include a brief combined biographical sketch and candidate statement that indicates the Society committee(s) in which the candidate is interested in supporting. Incomplete nomination packages may be rejected. Self-nominations are allowed.
Based on the nominations received, members of the Nominations Committee will present a slate of candidates to the IEEE for the election ballot. The slate will strive to reflect the demographics of our Society’s membership in terms of gender, geography and affiliation (industry, and academic and government research institutions). The elections will be coordinated by the IEEE by electronic vote and will be open to all Society members. Graduate student members will not be able to vote/participate in Society elections.
