Proposal Solicitation for Hosting the 2025 IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School (America/Africa)

The IEEE Magnetics Society Education Committee is soliciting proposals for the 2025 Magnetics Society Summer School in America/Africa. Up to 100 graduate students from around the globe are sponsored to attend and participate in the week-long lectures and discussions by experts in the field of magnetism. Summer School Proposal
The proposal should address and describe the following:

  • Research activities in magnetics of the hosting institution.
  • Historical and cultural attractiveness of the site and/or natural attractiveness.
  • Previous experience of hosting international events.
  • Accessibility (airport, local transportation).
  • Facilities, housing, and meals.
  • Budget (see below).
  • School dates (The school will be one-week long, starting on Sunday evening and ending on Friday).
  • Local organizing committee.

Budgets
The budget should include the following items:

  • Travel support, lodging, and meals for 90 students: 25 from Asia, 25 from Europe, 30 from America, and 10 from others.
  • Lodging, and meals for 12 lecturers (no travel cost).
  • School facilities. Cultural events or outing.
  • Sources of additional support if the total budget is larger than US $100,000. (Magnetics Society will provide a support of US $100,000).

Note:
The school program as well as the student admission will be decided by the IEEE Magnetic Society Education Committee, in consultation with the local organizers.
